About XMovie F.A.Q.

This is a list of Frequently Asked Questions I've compiled over the years. Use this page for common question about XMovie and if you don't see your question answered here, feel free to contact me and I will try to answer your questions.

Adding Youtube video gives an invalid video error.

For XMovie for Joomla 1.5, if you are using the IFrame method, set the type to Raw. If you checked the box "Use Old Embed Code" set the type to Youtube. This is fixed in the latest version of XMovie

Movie is not appearing in Shadowbox.

Make sure Shadowbox is installed and that you have at least HTML and FLV enabled.

I upgraded to XMovie version 1.2.1 and now local flv files are not working.

This is most likely caused by jQuery not being found on your site. In Parameters you can choose if jQuery is loaded by XMovie or not.

I'm using the XMovie Menu module but the links to the categories are not working.

XMovie Menu requires XMovie Main View being added as a Menu Item. This is so XMovie Menu can find the correct Itemid for your movie categories.

How do I add a Youtube video to XMovie

If you are using XMovie for Joomla 1.5, on the youtube page click the Share button. Next click the Embed button. From here decide if you want to use the default IFrame or the Standard Embed code. If you use the embed code check the box Use Old Embed Code and set type to YouTube. If you use the default IFrame method, set type to Raw.

For Joomla 2.5, copy the URL link of the page that contains the video and paste it in as a link, then click save.
